I thought words were supposed to drip from my pen like golden, perfectly shaped pearls. Then I discovered rewriting.
I've been writing (and rewriting) ever since. I've written for various anthologies and blogs, and enjoy challenging cultural norms and assumptions, the goal being stories that are fun to read and make us think. I love reading and writing contemporary erotic romance and erotic fiction, but when breast cancer came a-calling, that story demanded to be told, front and center. (Like my boobs.)
I plan to soon return to writing stories featuring smart, resourceful, and flawed female leads soon. These women have imperfect figures, complicated lives, and boyfriends who may not always fit the Fabio cover trope (though it's always more fun if they do).
My characters often get themselves into trouble, but can always figure a way out. Finally, my heroines enjoy hot, juicy sex, whether or not it's with Mr. (or Ms) Right.
I've written:
- Rose City Sisters Flash Fiction
- Boob Stories anthology
- LARA Confidential newsletter
- Short Shorts, a short story/poetry anthology,
- four years as columnist in The Working Title, a monthly literary publication,
- six years as editor/contributor to Hoofbeats, a monthly equine newsletter,
- occasional op-ed pieces in the Los Angeles Times, and
- several first place finishes in local writing contests.
